To further optimize and enhance the implementation of the "Tsinghua Medicine International Medical Practice Program", on March 28th and April 2nd, the "Symposium of NUS Medical Exchange Students" and the “Exchange Conference of Tsinghua Medicine International Medical Practice Program”were held at Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital. The first batch of 9 exchange students from the National University of Singapore shared their experiences and feelings during their studies at the symposium, and they all expressed their hope to extend the study period in order to have a deeper understanding of China's medical system and development.
The five central course leaders also actively shared their insights in the teaching process. Through daily teaching and communication, they experienced the diversified training models of students from different systems, learned a lot from the students, and established deep teacher-student bonds with them. Professor Xuyan Chen, the vice director of Tsinghua Medicine and the assistant dean of the School of Clinical Medicine, mentioned in the summary that through mutual communication and continuous summary, practical experience is provided for the improvement of the international medical practice program and innovative ideas are offered for other education and teaching programs.
Mingyan Zhang, the Vice Director of the International Cooperation Office of Tsinghua Medicine, and the teachers in charge of education from the First Hospital of Tsinghua University and Tsinghua University Yuquan Hospital were invited to attend this exchange meeting of the Tsinghua Medicine International Medical Practice Program. Professor Fang Liu, the Director of the Education Office of the School of Clinical Medicine of Tsinghua University, the Director of the Education Department of Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, and the Project Pirector, warmly welcomed the arrival of everyone and introduced to the teachers one by one from the aspects of the project background, objectives, teaching overview of receiving the first batch of students, and feedback from teachers and students.
With the progress of the project, more students will come in the future, and the First Hospital of Tsinghua University and Tsinghua University Yuquan Hospital will also undertake some teaching tasks. The teachers of the two affiliated hospitals stated that this exchange conference was also an opportunity for mutual learning and sharing among affiliated hospitals, which was conducive to better implementation of the international medical practice program. They were willing to adhere to the 4I theory of Tsinghua Medicine, the development strategy of "innovation, integration, internationalization, and characteristics" to enhance international exchanges, broaden international horizons, and cultivate more outstanding international medical talents.
