（Written By ZHAO.P.L Translated By YU.Y.C）In March this year, a joint delegation from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Hong Kong College of Surgeons conducted a review of the general surgery professional physician base of Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital and highly praised it. On October 28, Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital officially signed a tripartite memorandum with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Hong Kong College of Surgeons, granting the hospital the qualification of general surgery professional physician Training center.

In 2020, Tsinghua University Clinical School of Medicine (Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital) was accredited as the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh/Hong Kong College of Surgeons Training Base for the first time. In the past four years, the hospital has sent more than 10 students to the project. The hospital uses the mature surgical training system and strict assessment system of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh to further enhance the comprehensive level and quality of the surgical residents of Tsinghua University.

Professor Rowan PARKS, Chairman of Edinburgh College of Surgeons; Professor Zhu Jianmin, Chairman of Hong Kong College of Surgeons; Dr. Hu Riming, Honorary Secretary; Dong Jiahong, President of Tsinghua University Clinical School of Medicine and President of Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital; Liu Fang, and Director of Teaching Department of Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital; Song Chunmei, Deputy Director of Teaching Department of Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, Project leader Luo Bin, director of surgical planning training base, and project mentors and students attended the meeting.

In welcome speech, Dong Jiahong thanked the two institutions for the review certification, he stressed that every Tsinghua Changgung staff shoulder the mission and responsibility to promote the development of Tsinghua medicine, and he encouraged young doctors to better devote themselves to medical study, adding a unique part of Tsinghua Medicine to the historic Edinburgh General surgery base. Rowan PARKS and Zhu Jianmin delivered speeches respectively, and they highly affirmed the operation of Tsinghua medicine and Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital in the past training base, and looked forward to more long-term cooperation and development in the future.

At the meeting, Rowan PARKS, Zhu Jianmin and Dong Jiahong signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding on behalf of their respective hospitals and unveiled the training center. After the ceremony, the three agencies discussed the follow-up operation and deployment of the base.
